At Freeman Johnson we maintain high standards when it comes to fraud prevention.  One area which has become fraught with fraud in recent years, due to the increase in Cybercrime, is Conveyancing.  Due to the nature of the Conveyancing transactions, fraudsters will often try and take advantage of Buyers and Sellers at a time when they may be vulnerable and under pressure to transfer funds. 

NCA, The Law Society, SRA and Action Fraud have produced a summary guide of key risks and the steps Clients can take to protect themselves, following an increase in the number of recent cyber-attacks, whereby fraudsters impersonate Legal Firms to obtain client information and funds.  We want to make our clients as prepared as possible, and ensure we protect them the best we can. 

We attach the summary guide and would encourage all clients, but particularly those who are currently Buying or Selling their home with us, to read the same and remain vigilant to the various threats posed by cyber criminals.   As always, if you are concerned or believe you may have received correspondence from us which appears to be fraudulent, please do not hesitate to contact us on a known office number (not using any number detailed in the correspondence in question) in order to clarify the same.
