Katie joined Freeman Johnson as a paralegal in the Family Department at the beginning of 2025. She has plans to start the qualifying exams in January 2026 and hopes to be qualified within 2 years. She became a trainee solicitor as of March 2026.

Katie had recognised by her second year of university that she wanted to specialise in family law within her future career as a solicitor. She has never wanted to try any other department because she loves this area of law.

Previously at university, Katie was a course representative. In this role, she represented all of the law students within her cohort and attended meetings with lecturers and senior members of the university to be the voice of the students. She found this experience particularly interesting, as it allowed her to play a part in decision-making that ultimately affected her year group.
